The Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation is an entity that was created in 2006 in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay with a focus on migration and heritage issues. Its first action took place in 2006 with the event "We All Fit" thanks to the support of UNESCO, IOM, UNHCR, Amnesty International, University of the Republic, Flacso and the Municipality of Montevideo in Uruguay.
In 2008, it began organizing international events based on the concept of "Heritage in Motion", the first of which was held in Costa Rica. Up to 2019, 14 international meetings have been held in different parts of Ibero-America with the participation of universities from different continents, professionals, researchers, states and social organizations who have contributed their knowledge from different themes and perspectives.
Entre Soles y Lunas has developed field work in Bolivia, Uruguay, Spain and Colombia to define proposals from the perspective of heritage as a factor of integral development. It has also contributed its knowledge for the enhancement of heritage as an alternative to rural emptying in Europe.
Since 2006, the Foundation has actively participated in the Mercosur Social Summits in Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, Brazil and Uruguay, taking part in seminars and committees of structures and debates. It has been representative as coordinator for Uruguay before Unasur in the Table of Consolidation of the Social Regulation with participation in the negotiations as an articulating team in Quito, Ecuador. In addition, he is co-creator of the Migrants Network of Uruguay and supported the consolidation of the National Board of Migration of Uruguay.
In 2011, the Foundation was awarded a Postmark by Correos del Uruguay, in recognition of its contribution and national and international work.
Since 2014 it is part of the Council of CulturaDH of Mexico, from where it promotes the study and research in culture and Human Rights.
In 2016 created the International Movement of Sustainable Fashion Universo MOLA, recognized as one of the most important in Latin America. This movement, which brings together designers from all over Latin America, promotes the Latin sustainable textile production chain and develops local, regional and international events to promote Latin American design and creativity. Universo MOLA also offers courses, training and knowledge exchanges with universities, organizations and entities worldwide. Universo MOLA has representatives from the USA to Patagonia and the Caribbean and is considered by experts as the representative movement in the Latin American sustainable fashion sector at an international level.
Heritage for regeneration, is consolidated as a program in 2019 to expand throughout Latin America with the aim of strengthening the knowledge and values of the people and promoting comprehensive development proposals from the triple impact and providing solutions at points of origin and destination and contributing to avoid the Latin American rural emptying.
The Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation bases its actions on communication, education and culture; therefore, it has been carrying out communication actions that give value to migration in a positive way, strengthens and values the material and immaterial heritage of the people and generates strategies that dynamize society through sustainable fashion.
The entity's actions are strengthened through agreements with universities, state entities and social organizations from different parts of the world through processes, research and programs applied locally, regionally and internationally.
