History

Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation is an international entity that emerged in 2006 in Montevideo, Uruguay, with a focus on immigration and heritage issues. Its first action took place in 2006 with the event “Cabemos Todos” thanks to the support of UNESCO, IOM, ANCUR, International Amnesty, University of the Republic, Flacso and the Montevideo Municipality in Uruguay.

Since 2008, it begins to carry out its international events from the concept of "Heritage in Motion" being the first in Costa Rica. Until 2019, 14 international meetings have been made in different parts of Ibero-America with the participation of universities from different continents, professionals, researchers, states and social organizations who have contributed their knowledge from different themes and perspectives.

Entre Soles y Lunas has developed field work in Bolivia, Uruguay, Spain and Colombia to define proposals from the perspective of heritage as a factor of integral development. Likewise, it has contributed its knowledge to the enhancement of heritage as an alternative to rural emptying in Europe.

Since 2006, the Foundation participates actively in the Mercosur Social Summits in Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, Brazil and Uruguay, being part of seminars and committee structures and debates. It has been representative as coordinator for Uruguay before Unasur in the Consolidation Table of the Social Regulations with participation in the negotiations as an articulating team in Quito, Ecuador. In addition, it is co-creator of the Network of Migrants of Uruguay and supported the consolidation of the National Board of Migration of Uruguay.

In 2011, the Foundation was awarded a Postmark by Correos del Uruguay, in recognition of its national and international contribution and work.
Since 2014 it has been part of the DH Culture Council of Mexico, from where it promotes the study and research in culture and Human Rights.

In 2016 it created the Sustainable Fashion International Movement Universo MOLA, recognized as one of the most important in Latin America. This movement, which brings together designers from all over Latin America, promotes the sustainable Latin textile production chain and develops local, regional and international events to promote Latin American design and creativity. Universo MOLA also provides courses, training and offers knowledge exchanges with universities, organizations and entities worldwide. Universo MOLA has representatives from the USA to Patagonia and the Caribbean and is cataloged by experts as the representative movement in the Latin American sustainable fashion sector at an international level.

Heritage for regeneration, is consolidated as a program in 2019 to expand throughout Latin America with the aim of strengthening the knowledge and values of the peoples and promoting comprehensive development proposals from the triple impact and providing solutions at points of origin and destination and contributing to avoid the Latin American rural emptying.

The Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation bases its actions on communication, education and culture, therefore, it has been executing communication actions that positively value migration, strengthen and value the tangible and intangible heritage of peoples. and generates strategies that energize society through sustainable fashion.

The actions of the entity are promoted in agreements with universities, state entities and social organizations from different parts of the world through processes, research and programs applied locally, regionally and internationally.
