Ruge el bosque is a proyect originated in Argentina that, through poetry, fights for the multilingual and environmental conservation of Latin America.
Its first volume: ecopoetry of the Southern Cone (Caleta Olivia, 2023) gathers contemporary poets from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and border areas. The poems that make up this anthology are written partially and totally in Guarani, Chana, Spanish and dialect spoke in Buenos Aires, in which they unite and address the resistance in the territories of the original communities and the consequences of ecocide that does not cease throughout Latin America.
Ruge el bosque aims to generate a transnational conversation about the role of literature in Abiayala, Afro and Latin America as an intercultural strength in the context of the climate crisis. Through poetry, it seeks the preservation of endangered languages and the shift towards emerging environmental policies for the protection of ecosystems. The project also has Ecoteca, its podcast and a digital map, available on their website, about the touring regions with its publications.
Ecopoetry of Mesoamerica, the second volume of his anthology will compile poetic expressions in Guna, K 'iche Maya, Nahuatl, Belizean Kriol, Garifuna, Ngäbe, Yucatecan Maya, Spanish and English from the region between Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica; with emphasis on themes of natural diversity. Edited and published by the editorial Caleta Olivia, as of August it is available in Argentine bookstores and with international shipments.
