We are really aware of what cultural rights represent in terms of human dignity where society is made up of cultural diversity.

Let's start by asking ourselves what cultural life is? Well, we can define it as that means of expression of a cultural nature, in which it has historically transcended, through a dynamic and therefore evolutionary process over time.

When we talk about culture, I am fascinated by the fact that I see everything that it includes and it is really so wonderful, since it involves: language, food, clothing, housing, music, ways of life, religion, beliefs, sports, literature. , natural environment, customs, art and traditions.

Fascinating, right?

HOW CAN WE CONTRIBUTE TO THE CARE OF PRESERVING CULTURAL RIGHTS?

As I mentioned, culture has had an evolutionary process, which implies that throughout this time communities and groups have expressed their humanity through culture.

If we take this to the world of fashion, we can see that the great common thread is identity. We observe that cultures have no borders, because issues such as migration and globalization put different cultures in close contact and each group strives to preserve its own identity. Globalization has shown that culture implies the coexistence of different cultures, this is super interesting and we see it reflected in clothing.

And how can we contribute to preserving cultural rights? I would tell you that it would be to the extent that we as consumers give VALUE to all creations. By this I mean that we know that all the production produced by a certain group or community clearly has a value, but I am not referring only to the economic value, but to the values that go beyond the commercial, that is, TO THE VALUE THEY HAVE CULTURALLY, WHERE EACH OF ITS PIECES TRANSMIT: ITS SOCIAL EXPRESSIONS, TRADITIONS AS A COMMUNITY, AND ABOVE ALL ITS IDENTITY.

IN WHICH SCENARIOS CAN YOU ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE AS AN ACTOR IN CULTURAL RIGHTS?

To the extent that we get to know, delve into knowledge of our culture, we will love it more and more and in this way help preserve these identities.

So we asked ourselves, but how can I do it, from where?

The reality is that many times we read, we learn, we see, we give our opinions, but we do not execute and we let these actions be carried out by others. That is why I am going to list some options to help you make it easier for your contribution to be actioned:

  • Educate ourselves on cultural issues: He placed it first, because in order to help, promote or simply have the knowledge for ourselves, we must educate ourselves. The culture that exists in different countries is really too interesting and many times we have great ignorance of all that history and traditions.

Let's start by enriching ourselves with knowledge, training ourselves, and in this way we can care, love and also be replicators of these origins towards our children, family and communities. We all have the right to learn, you have that right to knowledge, and thus be that active actor.

  • Actively participate and contribute: We all have the right to actively participate and we can do this through communication. The idea is that we can transmit all that knowledge, knowledge, manifestations of the different groups, ethnicities, communities. Here are some ideas on how to support making those cultures visible:
    • Create cultural platforms on different channels that are within our reach.
    • Be part of an area of social responsibility in your company or your venture and make sure to include cultural themes and that this becomes part of your corporate culture.
    • Be a replicator entity in your family and community circle, of the knowledge you have. It's no use staying with them.
    • Look for opportunities to interact with members of ethnic communities so that they themselves can enrich you with their beautiful stories and you can then uplift them through the communication of aspects of their culture.
    • Participate and collaborate in activities such as bazaars, fairs, congresses, workshops, where you can freely include yourself and share the expression of their cultural practices.

HOW IS THE STATUS OF THE PROTECTION OF THE CULTURAL VALUES OF OUR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE?

We reach a truly fascinating point, since the collective culture of our indigenous peoples is vital and indispensable for their presence to endure.

Today we are experiencing great imbalances in different geographical areas regarding the issue of invasions of the environment and where they often impact the territories of our ethnic groups. It is extremely worrying to see the violations that are occurring to nature and that impact the evolution of its stories.

When talking about respect for cultural rights, in this specific point we refer to the PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS RELATED TO THEIR LANDS AND NATURE. To make it more didactic, these would be some points to which we must pay close attention, because they are negatively affected:

  • Their ways of subsistence
  • Alteration of your identity
  • Loss of its natural resources
  • Loss of their lifestyles
  • Loss of access to cultural settings

This is not an issue that should only be the responsibility of government entities and ethnic groups, it is an issue for EVERYONE, and it is here that I make a faithful invitation to be agents of positive change to help ensure that CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS PRESERVE and be for the REACH OF ALL PEOPLE, especially to protect the mother earth of the INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES, FOLKLORE with EQUALITY and with ZERO DISCRIMINATION.

I CONCLUDE WITH THESE POINTS THAT ARE INTERESTING SO THAT EACH OF YOU CAN VISUALIZE THEM AND MOST OF ALL, WORK ON THEM AND ACTION POSITIVELY IN YOUR COUNTRIES, COMMUNITIES AND INDIGENOUS GROUPS:

Culture reflects the values of well-being and the economic and social life of people and communities.

THE CULTURE THAT DOES NOT COMMUNICATE: DIES. We must actively contribute to EXPRESS IT, PRESERVE IT, to reinforce the identities of each cultural group, since their EXPRESSIONS are SACRED AND UNIQUE

RESPECT and CONSERVATION of cultural rights is very necessary, since IT IS THE TREASURE, THE HERITAGE OF EACH COUNTRY AND WHAT MARKS US AS INDIVIDUALS.
