Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation successfully closes a year supporting sustainable fashion in Latin America.

On October 17 in Montevideo, Uruguay, the last of the five MOLA Fashion Day (MFD), training sessions for sustainable fashion brands in Latin America, organized by Universo MOLA, the Sustainable Fashion program of the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation.

 

MFD aims to accompany the selection process of brands, which will participate in the next Universo MOLA Fashion Week, the only Fashion Week in Latin America, which will take place from March 30 to April 2, 2023 in the city of Punta del Este, Uruguay.


The brands selected by the Universo MOLA program to participate in the MFD that were held in Cali, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santiago de Chile and Montevideo, attended a series of talks and free training modules, in which topics related to the sustainability, the circular economy, fashion communication and personal ecology, among others.

The presentations were given by different sustainable fashion actors from our continent, including: Doris Helena Rojas, director of the Entres Soles y Lunas Foundation, Valentina Suárez, director of the Universo MOLA program; Fedra Mauricci, creator of Back in Fashion; Alejandra Noreña, creator and director of Habitar Academy; Cata Droguet, director of Mujer Sustentable, Mauricio Cárdenas, co-founder and president of the board of directors of the Green Chamber of Commerce of Latin America, Lillyana Mejía, business sustainability consultant, Guillermina Castro de Viable and Camilo Orellana from Capital Studio.


Once the training was completed, the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation awarded scholarships to the participating brands in order to support their participation in the next Universo MOLA Fashion Week to be held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, at the end of next March.

The Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation awarded a total of 16 full scholarships for runway and gallery, and 59 half scholarships for the other brands that attended the training program organized by the Universo MOLA program.

The brands that benefited from full runway scholarships were: Incline Leather (Cali), Uzal (Buenos Aires), Alkimia Textil Ancestral (Córdoba), Huaman Autor (Chile) and Floralia (Montevideo).

While among the brands that obtained full gallery scholarships are: Aude, Garces Bottier and Sentimentchenta (Cali), Dry and Franca Textiles (Buenos Aires), Be Humano, Melisa Guevara Joyería Sustentable (Córdoba, Argentina), Mochacó and My Way (Chile), Trama Bambu and Rana&Reni (Montevideo).

The training organized by the Universo MOLA program would not have been possible without the collaboration of a group of allies who have trusted in the work carried out by our Foundation, among whom are the Embassy of Uruguay in the United States, US Green Chamber of Commerce, Sustainable Woman, the Consulate of Colombia in Los Angeles, Colombia Nos Une, the Cultural Center of Spain, University of Belgrano, National University of Córdoba, the Green Chamber of Commerce, Coomeva, Activist, Hub Providencia, Jetmar, Viable and DHL .

The Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation, based in the city of Montevideo Uruguay, articulates actions from three fundamental axes: migration, heritage and sustainable fashion, duly articulated in agreements and alliances at the international level with state entities, academics, international organizations and social organizations. .

MOLA Universe (program of the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation) is the International Latin American Sustainable Fashion Movement that promotes the creation of networks, the development and recognition of designers, brands and producers of value in the fashion chain and the textile industry.
